ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my site. My name is Lynne Barker and I am a BACP qualified/licensed practitioner with over 10 years extensive experience in the field of therapy and mental health, both abroad and in the UK.

My motivation to practise has been born out of a desire to help people feel more fulfuilled and empowered in their lives. Today there is nothing more rewarding and worthwhile for me than to have brought this desire onto a professional level.

I graduated from Exeter University (BA Hons), followed by Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Cambridge University. I spent the first part of my career in industry and commerce, representing British companies in Russia and founding a school outside Moscow. From these diverse experiences and their accompanying adventures, I decided to take a change my career direction and dedicate myself to the promotion of healthy psychological wellbeing.

I started studying psychology and in 2010 returned to the UK, spending several years working as a volunteer in bereavement support with adolescents at the Balloons charity in Exeter. I went on to complete an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Couselling from the Iron Mill, Exeter working in parallel with people from diverse backgrounds in several registered charities.
